A Yoga Trek to Poon Hill — Your First Walk in the Himalayas
The Ghorepani–Poon Hill trail is one of the gentlest routes in the Annapurna region, which makes it ideal if you want to walk in the Himalayas without taking on a long, high-altitude expedition. There is no technical climbing, the trail is well built, and teahouses line the way.
Over six days you walk through rhododendron and oak forest, sleep in village teahouses, and climb before dawn to the Poon Hill viewpoint for sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. A yoga and meditation instructor walks with the group, leading a session each morning and evening.
The pace is relaxed and the group small, so the trek suits complete beginners as well as regular walkers. The route stays below 3,300 m, so altitude is rarely an issue, and you finish with a soak in the natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda.
Why the Poon Hill Yoga Trek?
